CARES Act Funding for Students-Q1 2021

CCMS will be distributed $142,121.00 directly to students, as allocated through the CARES Act’s Higher Education Emergency Relief Fund (HEERF I and II). The funds were distributed by May 12, 2021. 

Who received the aid?

An equal amount of the fund went to each student who was enrolled in CCMS campus-based courses in spring 2020 and 2021.

30-Day Fund Report: CARES HEERF Distribution

As of March 17, 2021 the Cincinnati College of Mortuary Science has fulfilled and exceeded the required distribution of $142,121.00 to 172 students under Section 18004(a)(1) of the CARES Act, HEERF I and II.  

As of March 27, 2020 and March 17, 2021 the college had 89 and 83 on campus students respectively, (172 total) who were determined to be eligible to participate in programs under Section 484 in Title IV of the Higher Education Act of 1965 and thus eligible to receive Emergency Financial Aid Grants to Students under Section 18004(a)(1) of the CARES Act. HEERF I and II.

The college opted to give all eligible students an equal share of the funds in two distributions. Each student received $680 in the first distribution on June 19, 2020 and 983.15 in the second distribution on March 17, 2021.  All students were issued paper checks that were hand delivered by the President, picked up at the College or received by mail.
